Jimmy Coates seems like an ordinary boy, but he’s not. He’s genetically engineered to grow into the perfect government assassin. Speed, strength and deadly instinct – it’s all in his blood. He has to fight not to kill... while his government fights to kill him.
With his family torn apart and his life in danger, Jimmy seeks refuge in the USA. But this time the enemy is inside his head...
Review:
This was an action-packed book, filled with battles that start after the first couple of pages! I couldn’t put the book down, even when I got given a drink!
The third book in the Jimmy Coates series, it starts by setting the scene a little, before going straight into a battle. Jimmy has left the country, on the run from the evil NJ7: the organisation that genetically programmed him to be the perfect assassin. He keeps on having images in his head, and pains in his ears for a few seconds. And, slowly, Jimmy can feel himself turning into the assassin he was made to be. Revenge is about Jimmy’s struggle to survive...
Jimmy was a cool, great fighting character! When his programming takes over, he was about to do some unusual things, but he was good underneath it all.
One of the baddies in the book, Miss Bennett, was mean and evil. I didn’t like her very much, because she was just plain creepy. Another bad guy was Mitchell, who was another genetically programmed assassin. He was a good fighter, but he’d let his programming take over him.
The other characters were all great, but my favourite was Felix. Felix was sometimes funny, and very loyal to Jimmy. I liked him because of his sense of humour and because he always agreed with Jimmy.
The last genetically engineered assassin was Zafi, the only French and only girl assassin. She was super fast and put a lot of power into her strikes.
Revenge was unputdownable and was an amazing book. It was completely epic and I really want to read the rest of the series.
(The only reason it lost ¼ was because it left it at a really bad place!)
