Stars dazzle at Zee Cine awards in Macau. Celebrities are in full attendance at the Zee Cine Awards and the evening saw sizzling performance by the stars. The couple that dazzled the most was Ranbir Kapoor and his ex-flame Katrina Kaif. Kat shake her legs in ‘Chikni Chameli’ tune and ‘Sheila KI Jawani’. She was applauded a lot by the audience. She was also awarded with international icon female award.

Ranbir enchanted the audience with his first live performance on songs like Bachna Ae Haseeno, Sadda Haq and Prem Ki Naiya. He bagged the best actor popular award for ‘Rockstar’. Later, Ranbir joined Shahid Kapoor on the stage and the duo paid a tribute to late Shammi Kapoor and Dev Anand. Rockstar sweep away maximum award at the award show. It got into it’s credit Best Director, Best Film (Popular), Best Music (AR Rahman), Best Singer (Mohit Chauhan for Jo Bhi Main) and Best Lyrics award.

The host of the evening Shahrukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra steal the show with their mimicry and one liner. The award show was a complete hit and charmed the audience of Macau.

Ranbir Kapoor has been in the news since his much appreciated performance in Imtiaz Ali’s Rockstar. The latest being that the actor is competing with Shahid Kapoor for the lead role in Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s next project titled Chithiyan. However, Ranbir revealed to Mumbai Mirror that he is not doing the film for sure.

According to media reports, Ranbir and Shahid – the two actors who have been pitted against each other professionally as well as personally, were being considered for the lead role in Chopra’s love triangle saga. While Chopra’s favourite Sharman Joshi, who had worked with the filmmaker in 3 Idiots as well as Ferrari Ki Sawaari, had reportedly been finalised to play one of the male leads in the film, Shahid and Ranbir were contending for the other.

A source close to the film told Mumbai Mirror, “It has not been finalised yet as to who will play the male lead. Vidhu might just zero down on a few other names as well. A decision will be taken on this regard soon enough.” Ranbir Kapoor Out Of Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Chithiyan?

However according to our source, this film is not on Chopra’s priority list as of yet. “Currently, he is busy with Ferrari Ki Sawaari. However, soon he will focus his attention on Chithiyan. The film is supposed to go on floors by July 2012,” added the source.

Though Ranbir reverted to our question on whether he was doing Chopra’s film with a curt ‘Nope’, when inquired why he declined the offer, the actor chose not to dwell on it.

On the other hand, while Vidhu Vinod Chopra remained unavailable for comment, a source close to the filmmaker confirmed the news saying, “Yes, Ranbir is not doing Chithiyan. Vidhu and Ranbir mutually decided not to work on this project. Ranbir had some date issues. They would however love to work in the future.”

RANBIR KAPOOR STARRING YEH JAWANI HAI DEEWANI OPPOSITE DEEPIKA PADUKONE

Ranbir Kapoor Starring Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani opposite Deepika Padukone Dharma Productions which already has Agneepath, Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu and Student Of The Year up for release next year, has announced their next project Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani. YJHD will be directed by Ayan Mukerji, who earlier made Wake Up Sid for the same banner.

The film stars Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone in lead roles. This is the first time Deepika will be working with Dharma Productions. There was a lot of speculation as to who would be paired opposite Ranbir in the film. There were talks of Anushka Sharma or Katrina Kaif being approached for the role, but Deepika managed to bag the film, as Karan, Ayan and Ranbir were convinced that she is the best for the role. Deepika and Ranbir were seen together in Bachna Ae Haseeno and though they didn't have much screen time together, their chemistry was electrifying. Their celluloid chemistry will be exploited to the fullest in YJHD.

The line Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani is taken from the famous R.D. Burman song from the 70s hit Jawani Deewani. While Wake Up Sid was a coming of age film Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani will be a hardcore romantic film.

Karan Johar tweeted, "So hey...Ranbir and Deepika will be in Ayan mukerji's next titled...YEH JAWANI HAI DEEWANI!!! The wake up sid boys on the floors from jan!!"
