Can Sonam establish herself as an actress with 'Mausam'?

Sonam kapoor’s latest movie Mausam is all set to be released very soon and the actress is brimming with excitement and thrill regarding how the movie will perform at the box office. Her state of mind can be very well understood by a recent tweet that she posted just ahead of the movie’s release. "Scared, excited, nervous, exhilarated, happy, jittery, nauseous," Sonam tweets. To justify her anxiety and nervousness, let’s have a look at some past performances of the cute Kapoor, which can’t be termed as very successful. We hope that the actress gets the taste of success this time with the new release.
Saawariya
Banshali’s grand movie named “Saanwariya” which also was the debut of Ranbir Kapoor. Though the movie opened with high expectations, but proved to be a dud at the box office. The reason being the over artistic sets and overdose of black and blue colors with a spineless story line. Also the movie dared to be released along with the King Khan’s Om Shanti Om and paid the price for the boldness.

Delhi 6
Another golden opportunity came in the form of Rakesh Omprakash Mehra’s Delhi 6, which was expected to establish the actress as an acting talent in Bollywood. But though her role was commended as a typical Delhi girl , the movie crashed at the box office crashing her hopes too.

I Hate Love Stories
Her first commercially successful movie. On account of some factors , the movie performed reasonably well at the box office but the lead pair somehow went unnoticed. Probably , the script of the movie did not leave much to the actor–actress pair to perform something extraordinary. Film was appreciated , but again, Sonam was not a part of that.

Aisha
Aisha was a remake of the Jane Austen’s classic ‘Emma’ and thus carried a lot of responsibility on itself and the lead actors which the latter unfortunately could not bear. The film had an all girl crew and there was a good emphasis on fashion and styling. Sonam’s acting credentials were not appreciated and all she could manage to be was an eye candy of some sort with good styling sense.

Mausam
It is believed that “Mausam” is the movie that Sonam was waiting for. Sonam is hoping that the movie will resurrect her career and will take the low stooping career graph to soaring heights. The movie is directed by the immensely talented Pankaj Kapoor and features his own son in the male lead.
