Well, as the title suggests, the very frequently asked question now days in bollywood town, is that will Ra.One do better at box office or Don 2 ?
The answer lies within the question itself. Ra.One has Shahrukh Khan’s INR 150 Crore at stake, and it is very likely that the box office response of Ra.One will have a huge impact on the success of Don 2
Ra.One has got it’s UCP, which is SRK’s first attempt into a Super Hero / Sci-Fi sort of movie, which is likely to appeal to children & families and as well as to those for whom VFX is more on an eye candy. Ra.One is being released both in 2D and 3D versions, that will help it cash some extra bucks when compared to movies like 3 Idiots or Bodyguard.
According to reports, the producers of Ra.One have already recovered whopping amount of INR 50 Crore from Satellite, DVD and its music rights, and will be looking for around INR 100-150 Crore (NET) from box office performance around the world.
Incase, Ra.One is able to break all previous records of movies like (3 idiots) which it is likely that it possibly could (but only time will tell, because it is always hard to predict Indian audiences response), than this will add up huge bonus to the next SRK starrer DON 2, slated for release on 23rd December 2011.
Also point to be noted is that, DON 2 has its own fan following (thanks to super success of DON), and this amazing action-suspense-thriller could prove to be a big blockbuster in SRK’s rating cards.
Though expectations are huge from both Ra.One and Don 2, and it seems 2011 could be SRK’s luckiest year if both of his movies (most likely) would become instant Blockbusters during first week of their release.
