Weekend Fun

SATURDAY:
Joe took the kids to an air show. They had a great time and the weather was fantastic! They all got up-close looks at the planes that flew in the show.
They also climbed aboard more helicopters, like this Apache with the pilot!

SUNDAY:
After Mass, we all went to a retirement home to bring the Eucharist to some of the residents. Here are the kids with a few of them who stayed afterwards to visit.Sunday was also a little sad because we had to say 'goodbye' to our parish seminarian, Steve, who has to return to the seminary after his pastoral year at our parish. He has been a great friend to us and very good to the kids! After we spent the afternoon swimming at our friends' house (I forgot the camera), we took a leisurely ride through the country. We saw peacocks showing off, "Sweet Pea" the donkey acting like a toddler, a ranch/farm owner and his daughter rounding up their roosters and hens to clip their wings. So...rather than stand by and just watch them scramble around before it got dark, we offered a couple of our crew members to assist with their speedy flock. Kathleen and Joe hopped in the pen and chased down the roosters! Now they can't fly out of their fenced pen and get caught by the farm dogs--the roosters and hens, that is! Joe and Kathleen got out fine! I can't believe I forgot to bring my camera!!
